Tales from the Void: The Spirits in the Firs

For centuries an eldritch ichor has seeped from the lava tubes under the Cascades. Legends of giant, hairy creatures have filled the regional folklore but the Bureau calls it all a hoax.

Well, renown cryptozoologist, Dr. David Carvin doesn't believe the shadow agency and he's gone looking for the truth. Smoke now billows from the peaks and the doctor has ceased contact. Piece together the clues, find the truth.

The Spirits in the Firs is a modern (1980s) survival and investigative horror campaign for Liminal Horror and is set in a semi-fictional version of the Pacific Northwest. Players will take on the role of paranatural investigators on the trail of a lost cryptozoologist, chasing down secrets, uncovering clues, encountering the weird, evading government agents, and hopefully finding the truth... before it is too late!

Travel from PDX International Airport all over Oregon, Northern California, and Southwest Washington piecing together dark, paranatural history of the region. Explore folklore with an eldritch twist. All whilst racing the apocalyptic clock.

This Module Includes:

• The Dark of the Cascades, a zine with the campaign setting and a PNW pointcrawl with connection to other official Liminal Horror modules such as The Bureau, Bloom, and The Mall.
  • This zine also contains a Doom Clock, location Details and their unique Clues which connect to the wider story, a list of Factions and their individual Goals, a complete list of NPCs and Monsters, as-well-as Hooks to get your adventure started.
• The Ichor on the Caves, a digital (trifold) pamphlet adventure set in the Ape Caves near Mount St. Helens. This adventure serves as the potential pay-off or climax to the whole adventure. This pamphlet is packed full of procedure to randomly generate intense cavern systems for endless exploration.
  • Also included with in this adventure scenario is a list of six new Fallouts, themed for this specific campaign.
• Plane Ticket ALT Character Sheet, an alternate character sheet for Liminal Horror with a list of specific lore details the PCs would know going into this campaign. Laid out in a fun, airline ticket style.
